Cathleen M. Rittereiser
Cathleen M. Rittereiser is the co-author of the book Foundation and Endowment Investing: Philosophies and Strategies of Top Investors and Institutions and an alternative investment management marketing consultant, writer and speaker.
Foundation and Endowment Investing, co-authored by Larry Kochard, the Chief Investment Officer of Georgetown University, provides an overview of the "endowment model" investment style and profiles 12 well-known CIOs, chronicling the challenges they face in allocating assets, managing risks and selecting from an increasingly complex set of investment opportunities. John Wiley & Sons published the book in January 2008.
Financial Analysts Journal, reviewing the book in the July/August 2008 issue, said, "Swensen's outstanding performance with Yale's portfolio, and the investment success of other educational institutions' endowments, such as Harvard's, and of some foundations has made the workings of endowments/foundations of growing interest. Kochard and Rittereiser have produced a well-written, enlightening book on the subject."
Rittereiser has held sales, marketing and client relationship management positions at leading asset management firms, investment banks and research firms, and most recently served as Vice President, Marketing, for Alternative Asset Managers, LP. Previously she handled business development for Symphony Asset Management, an alternative asset management firm owned by Nuveen Investments, and began her career at Merrill Lynch.
An accomplished public speaker, Rittereiser has participated in numerous investment industry conference panels and has strong knowledge and experience with digital media, social media and Web 2.0 technology. She moderated a panel entitled What Do Hedge Fund Managers Want from Web 2.0? for the O'Reilly Media February 2008 Money:Tech Conference chaired by blogger Paul Kedrosky, and published a related article for O'Reilly's Release 2.0 April 2008 issue. Rittereiser is working on the next book in their Profiles in Capital Series with Kochard.
Rittereiser received an AB from Franklin and Marshall College and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business.
